Pigeon Collaborative Writing Project
Mo Willems has a unique style of writing. After reading some of his books and learning about him from your online research, you will work with your partner to create an original story with the Pigeon as your main character! Use the Pigeon books in the classroom as a model for your writing. Begin by completing the writing poster to organize your thoughts as you brainstorm ideas, write your rough draft, and edit your work. When you're finished you will be creating a digital story and sharing it on this site. Follow the project outline below:

Digital Stories
Below are samples of digital stories. The first is an introduction to this project and sets up our activity. The second is one that I created as an example for you when you are creating your stories next week. We will view both in class together. Next we will use the SMARTboard to learn how to create videos on animoto. At the end of class, post on the blog and let me know if you have any questions about creating your own digital story.
Computer Lab Time!
There are a few things to remember when we are working in the Lab:
- We will be sharing computers. Each group only needs one computer to work on their digital story.
- There will be two groups working on their digital stories at a time. Don't worry... everyone will complete their story this week! While your waiting, login to sumdog and work on math games.
- While you are creating your digital story I will come by to check your progress and to help out in any way I can. Let me know when your video is finished so we can watch it together. Then we will work together to edit and make any changes needed.
- When your digital story is finished, it will be posted on our site. We will view everyone's story in class on Thursday December 15, 2011. You will be expected to provide helpful feedback about your peer's videos on our blog.
