Judy Schachner
Judy Schachner is a popular children's author and illustrator. She is most famous for the Skippyjon Jones series about a siamese cat who thinks he is a chihuahua. Judy was born on August 20, 1951 in Waltham, Massachusetts. She has two older brothers. When she was a child, her mom was very sick and she was very shy in school. Judy tried her best in school and she excelled in art. In 1969 she went to the Massachusetts College of Art. She graduated in 1973 with a degree in Illustration.
Her first job was working at greeting card factories, like Hallmark, designing cards. Judy later got married and had two daughters. In 1995 she wrote and illustrated her first picture book, Willy and May. In 2003, Judy wrote her first Skippyjon Jones book! And the rest is history...
